The Quivira Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2012 is a rich and smooth red wine that benefits from a spectacular 2012 growing season. The Zinfandel grapes ripened slowly and fully, creating the base for a flavorful and elegant wine. The wine was barrel aged in only about 20% new barrels, for a subtly expressive oak flavor. Flavors of brambly raspberries and black cherries are beautifully balanced by pepper, with earthy tannins and acidity adding complexity. This red wine would pair very well with grilled pork chops or with a warm bowl of spaghetti Bolognese.
