The DAOU Unbound Red 2012 is a nimble, yet rich, red wine blend of 70% Petite Sirah, 16% Tempranillo, and 14% Tannat. This wine is a deep crimson in the glass, but the body is light and elegantly fruity. Expect aromas of black cherries, stewed blackberries, and red plums. The wine is nicely structured and well balanced, with noticeable acidity and open tannins. The palate displays an array of fine flavors, including plump red and black fruits, cracked black peppercorns, and a suggestion of dark chocolate.
