“The MacPhail Wildcat Pinot Noir 2012 is produced from the Wildcat Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. Here, each berry struggles from flower to fruit, resulting in tiny clusters with intense, concentrated flavors. Elegant with a savage edge, Wildcat comes alive in the glass with aromas of wild blackberries, brandied cherries, molasses, and cedar spice topped with cinnamon. Ripe and round, smooth and seductive, flavors of dark cherry and black plum lead to a long, lingering finish like a preacher wound up on Sunday morning. Serious wine, this is.”
