The Rodney Strong Merlot 2013 is a rich, full-bodied red wine with a lot of flavor and quiet personality. The flavor profile is decadent, with notes of blackberry, black cherry, and plum. A hint of dried herbs adds interest to the flavor profile. The mouthfeel of this red wine is silky and lush, with soft tannins and a suggestion of cocoa and vanilla on the finish. This California wine will keep well in a cellar for the next two to four years and is an excellent dinner wine.  Consider pairing this Merlot with spicy Italian pastas, seared salmon, or grilled vegetables.
