“The MacPhail Toulouse Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013 displays warm aromas of oak spice and sandalwood, with rose petals and even a touch of coffee on the nose. Intriguing in its complexity, the expected Anderson Valley acid backbone is balanced by soft but discernible tannins. This red wine is medium in weight, with flavors of cherry and strawberry tinged with Christmas spice. Toulouse has been a standard bearer in the Deep End. It’s beautiful on release and gaining in stature. With just a touch of aging, this one will linger, offering long lasting memories.”
