The Anam Cara Heather's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010 is a graceful red wine. “Our intent with the Heather’s Vineyard Pinot Noir is to create the most elegant expression of our vineyard, using the lightest amount of oak. Our cool site favors barrels used only once which still provide structure, but with a softer profile. 
 
Traditionally we have created the Heather’s from ten rows of a single clone (Dijon 114) on a solo, late ripening block, cropped to 1.5 tons/acre. Despite netting, the 2010 bird invasion essentially wiped out these rows which abutted the tree line. Consequently, we opened our blending process to the other clones, choosing again the most feminine barrels.”
