The Blandy's 5 Year Old Verdelho Madeira is a rich and complex dessert wine. A vivid golden brown in the glass, the nose shows layers of fresh aromas. Notes of raisins, wood, dried fruits, and spice abound in this full-bodied wine. This Madeira is excellent with food. It is an especially good match for creamy soups, pheasant, duck, and pate. This wine was aged for five years in American oak casks using the traditional Canteiro system, which consists of gentle heating and cooling of the wine over years of maturation.
